Be a G*dd*mn Cheetah
Unfortunately, if you spend enough time with me I will brainwash you into thinking you can achieve everything you have ever dreamed of.
🪩Rise & Rage, Dreamers!🪩
I've seen this trend on social media lately that's been resonating with me on unprecedented levels. It's one of those things that almost feels like a sign because of how often I see it and how relevant it is to everything I'm working on currently. A Rorschach test of sorts. Maybe you've seen it.

"Be Realistic"
no.
No I will not be realistic. Unfortunately I will have the audacity to chase whatever it is I want to achieve for the foreseeable future because one chance is all I will get. We live in a society where people are doing incredible things and then we sit back and watch them do it while we set limitations for ourselves and put ourselves into boxes. Maybe we think "I couldn't do that" or "that couldn't be me".
The problem with this type of self-talk is that the price you pay for it is hefty.
What's even worse is that people set those limitations for themselves and then they drag you into this dystopian delusion where they want to try and keep you small, too. Keep you "realistic".
Realism is subjective. It's up to the dreamer to decide what is or isn't realistic for them. The greatest technology we have in this world came directly from the mind of someone who wasn't being "realistic". Because what does that even mean?? That just because it hasn't been done before, it can't be done??? I sound insane just saying that. Logically it makes no sense to be realistic in a world that seems so unreal every day.
People will doubt you. If they are, that means you're doing something right. Others will doubt you loudly. But its important to remember this: never take criticism from someone you would never take advice from.. (says Morgan Freeman, btw). You cannot allow yourself to make or break your life choices based on the opinions of those who you want to be nothing like.
This is not toxic positivity. I'm not sitting here saying that being unrealistic, achieving everything you've ever wanted from life is a fun or even remotely easy path. Quite the contrary, actually. But nothing worth having comes easy. its supposed to be hard, that is by design... and that's the point. We don't reach the depths of personal growth by taking the easy, soft way. We stay stagnant when we back down from the hard thing. When we resign to the fear that lives within you that's telling you every single day "you belong in this box", you are saying no to yourself.
Call me “woo woo“ but I believe in the power of quantum physics and manifestations. I believe that what you put out into the world is what you will get back.
A lot of the time, we don't understand the power that is held within our opinions of ourselves.
Why is this important? It's important because I am tired of being realistic. I'm tired of seeing other people do great things while somehow buying into the delusion that I CAN'T. Seeing and knowing what you are capable of is one thing, but actually acting on that notion, putting complete blind faith in yourself and knowing that no matter what, you won't fail. Because you are YOU. And I am ME.
There is a story in Glennon Doyle’s Untamed about a cheetah named Tabitha. She took her kids to the zoo and this is what she observed:
Every day, people would gather at the zoo to watch Tabitha run. A stuffed animal lure would zip around a track, and the crowd would go insane as the cheetah chased it down. Everyone marveled at how fast she was. The fastest. The greatest.
But in the story, Glennon couldn’t stop thinking about something else:
This was a cheetah.. the fastest land animal on Earth. A creature built for wildness, instinct, and freedom. Yet here she was, running the same circle every day, chasing a fake rabbit because that’s what she had been trained to do. It’s what was conditioned to believe she was destined for.
That’s when Glennon writes:
“You are not crazy. You are a goddamn cheetah.”
That quote has stuck with me. Through jobs, through motherhood, through relationships… Through actual human existence. The unironic reality is that so many of us spend our lives chasing the lure.
We chase approval and we chase expectations. We chase the version of success someone else handed to us. We tell ourselves we’re being realistic, to stay in our lane. We convince ourselves that the fences around us are there for a reason. Our safe box of self-expression. Your pickett fence of acceptance.
And eventually we forget who we are.
Maybe the voice inside you that wants more isn’t delusion.
Maybe the part of you that dreams bigger isn’t irresponsible.
Maybe the reason “be realistic” feels so wrong is because deep down you know you were built for something larger than the track you’ve been running.
The world doesn’t need more people who have mastered the art of staying small. It needs more people willing to trust themselves enough to step beyond what everyone else says is possible.
Maybe that’s the damn point of all of this.
You are not here to chase the lure
You are here to find out just how fast you can run.
And trust me, it’s exceptional.
Be exceptional.
