That’s Just my Emotional Support Podcast

✨ Rise & Rage ✨
I’ve had this question asked a few times so it inspired me to write a blog post about it so I could clear up the rumors.
KIDDING. There are no rumors. It’s not that serious. Honestly, I am so unserious sometimes I wonder if it’s TOO much… welcome to the clown show!
⭐️Who Even is She?
Anyway, the podcast. When I was a kid and people would ask “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I always had two specific answers for this:
- A cashier at Target (I still think this would’ve been the best path for me at times).
- A radio show host.
I’m going to state the obvious here and say that the today-equivalent of a radio show host would be a podcast. Now what I’m going to say next will most likely shock everyone reading this blog post: I freaking LOVE talking. I mean I have since I found my voice when I was a teenager. I quite literally never stop talking.
I recently saw a meme that said ”my favorite word is ‘also’ because I am literally never finished talking” and I felt really seen.
As for my “why”, it really is that simple. But I’m not really a surface level type of person so let’s actually take this one step further. Or, if you want to get technical, a few years backward.
🤰For the Love of the Mother
I’m a mother. My offspring will be 5 years old this year (that’s actually insane) and you can probably imagine that in the last 5 years of my life I have spent a considerable amount of time (literally all of my time) just trying to keep myself above water while balancing both a career and parenthood. Over the last year of my life, slowly but surely, I started actually getting a little bit of myself back. But that begs the question: Who am I?
And that is a journey that I set out on head first, both feet in. Believe it or not, my initial thought was for me to go way back to my roots. What have I always wanted? What have I still not done? And well, since being a cashier at Target wasn‘t going to be the best career move for me, I decided to give a podcast a real shot. Side note: they DO make a Target Cashier Barbie. I tried to do a lot of research on how you even start to make a podcast but I realized the one thing that I had that was stopping me: fear. I was afraid. It took some life events for me to realize that I do not want fear to be the thing that stands between the person I was and the person who I could become. (more on this another day!)
🏙️Building my Roman Empire
So next thing you know, there I am.. busting out my handy dandy iPad manically writing ideas down like I was going to lose them forever. I asked my in-office coworkers if they would do it with me.. they were totally onboard! Having people to actually yap with on the pod was paramount. We all have VERY different personalities so that felt perfect for the type of conversation that I had imagined taking place, plus it added a lot of depth. Almost like a “choose your fighter” vibe. Together we brainstormed topics, name ideas, episode features, you name it. We landed on the name Hired & Wired Pod. If you’ve been here this entire time, you know I work in staffing (pls try to keep up), hence the “Hired” portion of the name. All 4 of us have an unhealthy caffeine addiction and were constantly jacked on Neurogum so “Wired” just felt right.
The point wasn’t to have a ton of viewers and likes (however, if that would’ve happened, it would’ve been amazing!). I really wanted to create something that I enjoyed. Something that people could relate to, if nothing else.
And that is exactly what we did. We created episodes, I produced and edited the podcast 100% on my own which was a HUGE undertaking. That was probably what surprised me the most in this entire process.
We had a few very successful weeks on the pod and there were some friends who listened who really loved the content. Jeff, Sebas, Emily, Preeti.. You guys honestly kept me going through the grueling editing process.
📊 HR Has Entered the Chat
I’ll keep the next part brief as to not ruffle any feathers but I got wind that there was some problematic opinions about Hired & Wired Pod from some very important people at my place of employment. That combined with losing 2 hosts stalled production immediately. This whole thing had just blown up.. my baby! My pod! I was wrecked about this y’all. But people encouraged me to keep going.. My community, my friends, strangers on LinkedIn. It was a wild concept to me that people actually enjoyed what I had to say!
📚Blog or Brontë
Enter: the blog. I NEEDED an outlet. I missed the pod but had no idea what the direction would actually be. I have always loved writing.. I keep journals. I keep notes on my phone. You name it. I was born to be Emily Brontë and forced to make sure I didn’t hit “reply-all” to the company wide email. What a waste!
Ironically enough, LTTO was what I originally wanted to name the pod.
Everything happens for a reason. The series of events that led me to creating this blog, relaunching the podcast, made me feel like “Let’s Take This Offline” was the perfect name. Ya know, given the circumstances.
🚀Relaunch: Ready for Takeoff
I’ve missed this. And I have missed creating! If you followed along with my cake-saga this past week, you are a REAL one. That was me micro-dosing creating content until I could get to this very moment:
The official launch of Let’s Take This Offline: The Podcast.
My first guest is none other than my best friend, neighbor and fellow tech girlie: Preeti. It’s short. It’s brief. and here is the lore:
Preeti and I recorded over an hour of footage together, miced-up in my home office and the unthinkable happened.. a content creators worst nightmare. My phone died 13-minutes in the filming. Rookie mistake not making sure my battery was full of juice. I swear I’m still devastated. But what we did get was still gold.. and better yet, we are going to film again!
So with that being said, I give you:
LTTO Pod - S1:E1 - Bestie Behavior (pt 1)

Be sure to like, subscribe and share with a friend! If you know me, you know that your feedback is invaluable and I cannot wait to hear what you guys think!
